Cherry Creek Trail

Running along Cherry Creek for more than 40 miles, this trail is one of the most popular (and pretty!) in Denver. While not paved in its entirety, the vast majority of the trail consists of an 8-foot wide concrete surface. Perfect for a long day ride, or to connect to the Cherry Creek Shopping District, this path has something for everyone. Thankfully the Hamax Outback Bike Trailer easily converts to a stroller and has plenty of storage space for that cute outfit – we hereby give you permission to go shopping!

Greenway Trail

Also known as the South Platte River Trail, this paved bike path follows the South Platte River for nearly 30 miles and connects several parks. Markers along the trail weave tales of historic importance and make great spots to pull over and learn something new. Keep your eyes and ears open for the wildlife that lives along the shore including ducks, herons, beavers, otters and more. Choose your preferred distance at any time and enjoy the ride!

Clear Creek Bike Path

Stretching for 20 miles this paved bike path offers beautiful views of the buttes surrounding Golden as well as Clear Creek itself. One of the few trails in sunny Denver that has an incline, the Clear Creek Bike Path gains roughly 300 feet in elevation going into Golden, CO. After all that hard work, stop in at the Coors Brewery (the largest in the world) and grab a cold one. Apple juice for the kiddos of course! To see a map click here.

High Line Canal

This 71-mile long trail has been designated a National Landmark Trail and travels from Waterton Canyon to the plains south of the Denver airport. A shady canopy is provided by the abundance of cottonwood trees along portions of the trail. If you pass through Littleton on your journey make sure to stop by the Littleton Museum where you can explore two 19th century farms. While much of the trail is paved, portions are made of crushed stone. Thankfully the Hamax products offer suspension so your little ones stay comfortable no matter how many bumps you ride over. See a partial map of the trail here.

Sloan’s Lake Park

The second largest park in Denver offers a wide, paved 3-mile loop around the lake for bikers, dog-walkers, and runners. Majestic mountain views, crisp city skylines, and fishermen of all ages will give you plenty to watch as you pedal around the lake. With lots of other activities such as tennis and basketball available, this park is perfect for an afternoon of fun. Fido is welcome in the park, but make sure you have a leash!

Ralston Creek Trail

This 13.6-mile concrete path follows the Ralston Cree and winds through several parks and open areas. While passing Tucker Lake and the Arvada Reservoir the path has gently rolling hills which will give you an extra boost of exercise while keeping the kiddos entertained pretending it’s a roller coaster. Don’t miss the Gold Strike Bridge that spans 400 feet and is supported by suspended cables. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sunscreen if traveling on this trail as the shade is limited.

In a city with so many beautiful sights and perfect weather, how could you not go for a bike ride? Whether you’re going out for the first time or just looking for a few new Denver bike trails to explore, now is a great time to get outside and explore with your family. Make sure you have all the right Hamax gear to keep the kiddos safe and comfortable during all your adventures. Enjoy the ride!
