Top Results in Child Bike Seat Test

As the Hamax brand expands into Germany, they continue to win safety and design awards. The German consumer foundation Stiftung Warentest recently tested 17 child bike seats, both front and rear mount. The Hamax seats, Caress and Observer scored at the top level in both categories.

The test looked first at safety and compliance with the national standards. User friendliness and operation of the seats was evaluated by an experienced test panel. All the child bike seats were also checked for material durability and hazardous substances.

The Hamax Caress received an overall top score, with excellent results in the safety and durability categories. Consumentenbond in the Netherlands also found the Hamax Caress to be among the top level seats in a test conducted in 2016. The Caress is the premier model of child bike seats from Hamax and was launched in 2013. With its slender and elegant design, the Caress has obtained several awards.  These include the Red Dot product design award and the Taipei Cycle gold award for design and innovation. Many in the industry considered the Caress a superior innovation during its debut.

The front-mounted Observer is the little brother to the Caress and is very similar in style and design. The Hamax Observer also rated as a preferred seat in the Stiftung Warentest comparison. It also scored excellent results in the safety and durability categories.
