With more and more bike trails in Savannah popping up, you can tour the city, see the city and get your history lesson on the go! Whether you’re coming for a visit or you’re looking for a new favorite ride check out these top bike trails in Savannah.

Savannah & Ogeechee Canal Trail

Bike Trails in Savannah: Savannah and Ogeechee Canal TrailStarting at the Savannah Ogeechee Canal Museum & Nature Center, this trail runs for 7 miles using both paved and dirt roads along the Savannah and Ogeechee Canal. The Museum and Nature Center is open year round and has roughly 2 miles of hiking trails as well so the kiddos can get out and explore after your ride. Spanish Moss Trail

Bike Trails in Savannah Spanish Moss TrailA rail-to-trail pathway, the Spanish Moss Trail currently runs for 10.2 miles between Port Royal and Yemassee. The trail is expected to be 13.6 miles long when completed. You and the kids will love looking at the different scenery as you cross the marshes, some users have even mentioned seeing dolphins! There are some restrooms along the path, but make sure to bring water and snacks. Use this map to find the right trailhead for you and choose your adventure!

Daffin Park

Bike Trails in Savannah Daffin ParkThis 1.5-mile path is perfect for families just beginning their foray into bike riding. Whether mom or dad hasn’t ridden in a while, you’re unsure of how baby will handle the new bike seat, or the oldest is ready to take off the training wheels this path is great for learning. It’s eight feet wide, flat, and has beautiful scenery. Plus, it’s right next to a playground and swimming pool so if you need to switch gears you’re already in the right place. Bring a lunch and make it an all-day trip.

Skidaway Island State Park

Bike Trails in Savannah Skidaway State ParkThere are two trails in the Skidaway Island State Park that bicycles can travel on, the Big Ferry Trail and the Avian Loop Trail. The Big Ferry Trail is just under three miles and features the Liquor Still area and the Alligator Ponds. Check out the one-mile Avian Loop trail to catch a glimpse of an osprey or a dolphin. When traveling in the state park make sure to keep a map handy as well as snacks and a first aid kit. Remember to help protect the landscape by staying on the trail and packing out your trash.

Tom Triplett Community Park

Bike Trails in Savannah Tom Triplett ParkFeaturing a 1.5-mile paved loop around a freshwater lake stocked with fish. Watch the fisherman as you leisurely pedal around the lake, or stop at one of the fitness stations to get a different type of workout. Bring Fido along for some play in the dog park with a frisbee or favorite ball. There’s no playground at this park, so make sure the kids have an activity to do or are willing to play a game of tag instead of swings.
