Determine your mounting option

1. Standard Mount

This bracket option splits in two to secure around threaded headsets that have a clearance of about 2 inch on the bike stem. The Observer easily installs onto one side of the bracket, and the optional Windshield accessory (purchase separately) clips onto the front. Acquiring a second bracket allows you to easily transfer the seat between bikes.

2. A-Head Bracket Mount

This bracket option requires only 1/2 inch of clearance and should be used on threadless headsets or any stems with less than 2 inch clearance. The A-Head Bracket requires removal of the handlebars by a trained bike technician. The Observer easily installs onto one side of the bracket. At this time, the optional Windshield accessory does not fit onto this type of Bracket. Acquiring a second bracket allows you to easily transfer the seat between bikes.

This is a quality product, but unfortunately, is not compatible with my bike. Their customer service is excellent.

Great seat. Easy to install. My bike required the A-style bracket (2nd photo). Due to my bicycle’s frame design, the footrest is limiting the turning radius slightly.I don’t think that this will be an issue on bikes with a more traditional frame. I also had to shorten the footrest extension by about an inch due to my specific bike’s suspension fork – no big deal.

Well designed product. Compared to others that are super complicated to install, the Hamax Observer installs quickly, easily, and securely on the handlebar stem. Our Grandson absolutely loves going for a bike ride with his Daddy!

This is a great seat, easy to install and easy to remove when you want to ride solo. It’s super light weight but very sturdy. Great having the little one in front of you instead of behind where you can’t see them. My only (slight) issue is that it sits back quite far, which makes getting started tricky, as it’s a bit of a narrow fit to wedge yourself onto the bike and between the baby seat. I plan to get another adapter so it can be attached to other bikes in the family. I definitely recommend it!
